SPORTS AND GAMES:

  • Divangar.G of Grade 8C is a keen chess player. He has been participating in several chess tournaments - Ranipet District Level Children's Chess Tournament under age group of U-13 and scored 3 points out of 4 and secured Second place and First in Vellore Open Rapid FIDE Rating Chess Tournament under age group of U-14, he played ninerounds and scored 4.5 points. In the Tamil Nadu State Chess Championship- 2022 under age group of U-14, he scored 2 points from 4 rounds and Eleventh place.
  • Lakshminathan.S of Grade 8C participated in Ranipet District Traditional Belt Wrestling Championship 2021 in the above 65 kg category and secured First place. He qualified for the state championship and also participated in 4th Tamil Nadu State Level Belt Wrestling Championship 2021 in the above 65kg category and secured 2nd place.
  • Sachin Veerasamy.G, Mokith.T, Tanish M and Sahana Sri.D studying in Grade 8C participated in Ranipet Marathon organized on 27th December, 2022.
  • Girivasan.P of Grade 6B Participated in Chess Touranament Organised by Vellore Chess Academy and received participation certificate.
  • Nithilan.G of Grade 6B participated in Silambattam organized by Ranipet District Silambattam Association and received participation certificate for it.
  • Dwaragesan.V.M of Grade 6B participated and completed 250 Km Jolly runners organized by Walajah Sports Academy on 31st October 2021.
  • Raagavi. R of Grade 9B participated in the women's Vellore district Cricket tournament and scored 41*runs(not out) for Vellore district women's team against Salem cricket academy which helped her team win the match and in the 2ndmatch she scored 28 runs and helped her team defeat DRKCA Namakkal.

Others:

  • Mageshwaran. T of Grade 10A participants in INSPIRE Awards - MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), conducted by DST with National Innovation Foundation - India (NIF)- CBSE and got selected in State level (one among 1596 in Tamil Nadu and got Rs.10,000 as cash prize ) and moving forward for National Level. He was also nominated for the National Young Leaders Award.
  • Mageswaran.T of Grade 10 A secured 1st place and Moksha.A of Grade 9C secured 2nd place in Young Innovator Contest conducted by Balsam Academy.
  • Bharadwaj Murari .H, Himnesh vel S and Mohanasundaram .A participated in the Asteroid Search Campaign hosted by International Asteroid Search Collaboration(IASC) and for becoming a NASA citizen scientist. The campaign was for a month and it ended on 22nd April 2022.These students have got training certificate from Smartcircuits Innovation.
  • Saranya.Y of Grade 9B and Diyaa shree. H of Grade 9A participated in Online Quiz Competition conducted by PCRA Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India and received Certificate of Achievement with cash prize of Rs 2000 for State Level.
  • Saranya. Y of Grade 9B participated in the Tamil essay competition conducted by PCRA Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India and received the Best State Level Entry certificate for the same.
  • 224 Students of Grade 5 to Grade 10 participated in the 75 lakh Post Cards Campaign and top 10 students were selected by the English Department H.O.D and the same was uploaded in CBSE portal.

  • Diyaa shree.H and Saranya Y represented senior team for State Level Quiz competition.
  • Sakthi Sathana.S of Grade 9A won 2nd place in drawing organised by Govt. of Tamil Nadu transport department. Participated in State level & world record achievements and won 2nd place in art and craft.

  • Sai Sathya Krishna of Grade 10A won 1st prize and Mr.Siddarth Ilayaraja of Grade 10A won 3rd prize in Cycling Challenge organised by Balaram Memorial Trust and Verve Sports Academy.
  • Thrina Soni of Grade 10A won 1st prize in Walking Challenge organised by Balaram Memorial Trust and Verve Sports Academy.
  • R.Jaswanth of 6B participated in 17th AISF National silambam championship and won Gold under 14 category.
  • R.Bala Yohith of 5C participated in 17th Tamil Nadu state silambam championship and won Bronze under 10 category.
  • R.Krishmitha of 3B participated in 17th AISF National silambam championship and won Silver under 10 category.
  • M.Krithik of 7A participated in 17th Tamil Nadu state silambam championship and won Gold in strick fight under 14, won Bronze in single sword rotation under 14 category.

  • Pushpanathan R was placed first in the Inter school Young Innovator contest organised by Balaram Memorial Trust.

2019-20

SPORTS AND GAMES

Balsam pays utmost attention to the field of sports. We have qualified Sports team which offers the very best training to our students. Students were trained and participated in the Fit India Movement. The athletes were prepared for several competitions that took place at the Cluster, State and National level. The achievements are as follows:

  • S. Janavi was placed first in the 600 mts and was awarded with gold medal in the SSPF District Sports Meet. She was also selected for the state level and placed 6th in the Competitions held at Trichy.
  • S. Suriya Prasanna was placed 5th in the State level CBSE Cluster Meet Long Jump.
  • H. Azeeza has participated in the Vellore District Meet Javelin Throw and CBSE Cluster Sports Meet at Coimbatore and obtained Silver Medal. She was selected for National level meet held at Chhattisgarh and was placed 7th.
  • C. Mugilan has participated in the Chennai, Erode and Coimbatore CBSE cluster sports meets and won Gold medal. He was placed 10th in the National level meet held at Chhattisgarh.
  • Y. Hemavarshini has participated in Vellore District Sports Meet and was placed 1st in under 12 long jump event.
  • D. Shree Sahanaa has participated in Vellore District Meet. She was placed 2nd in under 12 shotput and 3rd in under 12 long jump events.
  • A.S. Prasanna has participated in Vellore District Meet and secured 1st place in shotput event.
  • H. Bharadwaj Murari has participated in Vellore District Meet and secured 2nd place in shotput event.

  • J. Jane Patricia has participated in 20th National Speed Skating Championship conducted in Nagpur, Maharashtra. She won 3rd place in both 500 m & 1000 m.
  • Krisha M, Sushil S, Srikanth M, Anushiya A, Diyasri T K, and Jyotsna S participated and won 1st place in 4th district Yogasana championship 2019- 2020 held at Shri Sitheeswara Polytechnic college, Arcot.

ART:

Our students took part in various National and District level art Competitions and brought laudable laurels to the school.

  • Six students participated in Indian council for child welfare art competition conducted on 19th July 2019. Among them Moniesh V.S of grade 3'C' won 2nd prize.
  • 20 students participated in the District level Art Competition conducted by Tamil Nadu Forest Department and Niranjana of grade 8 A won the 1st prize.
  • 15 students participated in the Petroleum Conservation Research Association competition on 20th September and A. Niranjana of Grade 8 A got selected for national level which is held at Delhi on 20th September and received the prize for top 100 category at the National level.
  • 15 students took part in the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation and Niranjana of Grade 8 A got selected and received 2000 cash award.
  • 5 students participated in the District Level Art Competition conducted by the Department of Art and culture, Tamil Nadu.
  • Moksha of Grade 7C won 1st prize and A. Niranjana of Grade 8A won the 2nd prize.
  • Thamizhselvan of Grade 9A has taken part in the District level Art competition held on 23rd and selected for the State level and he is awaiting the results.
  • Moksha. A of Grade 7C took part in the Government of Tamil Nadu State Level Painting competition on 5th January organised by Art and culture department. She was awarded with Rs.5000/- cash prize.
  • Dhiya D and Vaishnavi V S won first prize in Singing competition organized by Department of Art and Culture, Tamil Nadu.

CBSE REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIR

  • Karunya Lakshmi.H and Tamizhselvan.S of Grade 9A presented an idea on "Irrigation using heat energy". Moksha.A of Grade 7C and Sakthi Sadhana.S of Grade 8A presented a model on "super smart flush" at the CBSE Regional science fair hosted by D.A.V. Public School, Velachari on 29th and 30th of November 2019.
