Holiday Assignment G1&2

December 20th, 2018 /balsam user

Dear Parents of Grades 1& 2,

Life needs to be balanced between fun and work. A short break gives a chance for children and parents to relax. During holidays, leisure replaces work as a priority. You are filled with the enthusiasm to explore, travel and learn. Besides relaxing, the children should keep in mind, the execution of the assigned work in a well-planned manner. Motivate them to interact with knowledgeable books that would in turn lead their minds to grow exclusively and in an effective manner.

The last working day for classes K-G5 will be 21.12.18 (Friday) and vacation holidays are from 22.12.2018 to 01.01.2019. The school will re-open on 02.01.2019 (Wednesday).

Please find the suggested activities in this circular which will also be available on the school ERP to engage our children during the vacation.

Wishing to meet you in January after the short break with a broader outlook and positive attitude.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2019! May this year bring endless prosperity, peace, sound health and success to all of us. Let’s work together to make it a blissful year.

 With good wishes,

Team Balsam

Few guidelines for the parents to make the Christmas holidays fruitful.

  1. Give the children an unused or partially used notebooks or scrap books, child-friendly scissors, glue, pencils, old magazines and colours and let them create their own mini books. The topic could be “Animals” or “My Christmas Holiday” or “My Family” or any other topic of their interest. They can draw pictures or cut out pictures/photos and paste them in their books.
  2. Read English newspaper everyday and find 2 new words and write them on the word chart (one-fourth chart paper)
  3. Learn a short story by using flash cards (using old chart papers)
  4. Write fourwords that can be written the same way either from forward or from backward in the notebook. (E.g. MOM, MADAM)
  5. Help the children make their own addition/subtraction/multiplication tables book (0 to 6)
  6. Write the age of your family members and arrange them in ascending and descending order in Math notebook.
  7. Frame 2 sentences each using This, That, He, She, is, are, am in the English notebook.
  8. Listen to rhymes and songs and sing along together. Finger games and rhymes with actions are fun to learn.
  9. Play board games e.g. Chess, Ludo, Carrom etc.
